PAVILIONS
Within the Expo Hall, more elaborate exhibits known as pavilions, will guide you through an extraordinary experience of our faith. These interactive and visually exciting displays will engage all of your senses, while striving to educate and entertain.
EVANGELIZATION PAVILION
The Evangelization Pavilion will feature the latest materials, interactive technology, topical experts and live events to inspire all to grow as evangelized Catholics, and to lead the way as evangelizers of the Good News of Jesus Christ, sharing in the identity and essential mission of the Church.
Topics to be explored will include: Evangelizing within the Mass Setting, Evangelical Catholicism, Our Evangelizing Roots, Trends in Youth and Young Adult Evangelization, The Ecumenical Approach to Evangelization, and a focus on the Missions work of the Diocese of Orlando.
The Mission Office has been a bridge between the Diocese of Orlando in Florida and the Diocese of San Juan de la Maguana in the Dominican Republic since 1983. During that time, the two communities have worked to build a sister relationship based on love, faith, trust, hope and respect.
During the Festival of Faith be a part of this important mission! See how homes are built in the Dominican Republic during a live construction project at the Orange County Convention Center.
The Festival of Faith Evangelization Team looks forward to meeting you and encouraging you to "Go forth and make disciples of all nations... Matthew 28:19"!
VOCATIONS PAVILION
The Vocations Pavilion promises to be an exciting and in-depth presentation that will introduce you to vocations in a fresh new way.
The pavilion is divided into three rooms, each with its own focus and theme. The first room will highlight the many and varied religious communities that serve in the Diocese of Orlando. Gain insight into the sisters, brothers and priests who are dedicating their lives to Christ and see how they are serving the local church in so many ways.
The next room is a mock-movie theatre where a new and outstanding film will be the main feature! Fishers of Men is the Winner of a 2007 Gabriel Award. The film was produced at the request of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Fishers of Men explores the lives of some of the most courageous and influential men in history. Using the words, “I will make you fishers of men,” the Word made flesh instilled into the apostles the power and authority to go forth and use the same words by which they were called: “Come, follow me, I will make you fishers of men.
This fast-paced film on vocations to the priesthood has been described as the best vocations film ever produced for the Catholic Church. Produced by Grassroots Films, for more information: www.grassrootsfilms.com
The third room is an art gallery setting where you can learn all about the Diocese of Orlando seminarians who are studying to become this community’s next generation of leaders. Here, you will see beautiful paintings which represent the mosaic of each seminarian’s faith journey. It’s a wonderful way to see the Spirit of the Lord at work in the lives of these men who have said “Yes” they will serve!
FAITH FORMATION PAVILION
The Faith Formation pavilion will offer a variety of attractions, events and places to sit and visit that all focus on the faith formation activities of the Diocese of Orlando. Faith Formation assists the Bishop in establishing “an active and fruitful catechesis as an effective priority (GDC p. 210)” for all clergy, religious, and lay people throughout the Diocese of Orlando.
See how Faith Formation is important for providing an authentic teaching of the faith and learn about the comprehensive program of education and formation integrated in the diocesan pastoral plan that responds to the true needs of the faithful and its leaders.
There will also be opportunities for fun and games during Jeopardy style games that test your knowledge of the faith.
Hear from a variety of speakers, meet publishes authors during book signings, or just rest and relax and peruse Catholic periodicals. There will also be information and videos about the many education programs in the parishes and in the schools
HISTORY PAVILION
Stop by the History Pavilion at the Festival of Faith and see interesting photo murals of the Diocese of Orlando’s four bishops. These murals feature photographs and biographical information from the careers and ministries of our four ordinaries.
Then stop by the “Treasures of the Diocese” display which will include such items as Papal Bulls (documents), bishops’ accoutrements, as well as historical documents, publications and photographs.
A commemorative DVD of the history of the diocese will also be playing as will other video footage from the archives.
Surrounding the entire pavilion, will be a display depicting the 2,000 year history of the Catholic Church.
PASTORAL MINISTRIES PAVILION
The Pastoral Ministries Pavilion is Alive in Christ!
Come and visit the living waters and be refreshed and renewed with knowledge of all of the activities and programs provided for the People of God by this incredible group of offices of your diocese.
This pavilion holds the Office of Vocations, Clergy Services, Permanent Diaconate, the Office of Hispanic Ministry, Family Life and Pastoral Care, Youth and Young Adult including Campus Ministries and San Pedro Center.
The Domestic Churches, the churches of the homes, led by mothers and fathers are the first evangelizers, teaching young people of the love of God and sharing our Catholic faith traditions. Our mother church serves, heals and educates throughout the life cycle of each family as they move through and with sacraments of initiation, healing and service.
CATHOLIC CHARITIES PAVILION
Jesus said . . .
• Feed the Hungry
• Give Drink to the Thirsty
• Clothe the Naked
• Shelter the Homeless
• Visit the Imprisoned
• Welcome the Stranger
“Whatever you do for the least of my brothers and sisters, you do for me.” (Matthew 25:40)
These charitable actions commanded by Jesus for the common good are reflected as the Church’s teachings on social justice and direct CCCF’s core mission areas acting on your behalf to care for those in crises; the poorest, most overlooked, forgotten and vulnerable members of our communities.
“Providing hope and Building Opportunity” is not only a tag-line for Catholic Charities of Central Florida, but an every day reality in the lives of the thousands of men, women and children that come to Catholic Charities for help each year. Visit our pavilion and see for yourself the many wonderful programs that CCCF has in place in obedience to Jesus’ command. |
